University of South-Eastern Norway

The University of South-Eastern Norway has a strong focus on research and development. USN has strong regional ties and is present in one of the most exciting and dynamic regions in Norway. Study programmes are research-based and students are involved in research projects early on in their education. We offer an informal and student-friendly environment.

Educational Profile

USN has four faculties and offer exchange programmes at each faculty:
•    Faculty of Humanities, Sports and Educational Science
•    Faculty of Health and Social Sciences
•    Faculty of Technology, Natural Sciences and Maritime Sciences
•    School of Business

International students choose from a wide range of programmes, and often get closely connected to the staff and students at the campus of their choice. Our lecturers have an open-door policy which creates a good connection between students and teachers.
Our university is located in eight campuses around South-Eastern Norway.

Research Profile

USN is closely connected o the regional industry and public sector, and have a particular focus on applied research. The region of Southeast-Norway is a location for international, knowledge-based and competitive industry, and USN research is closely connected to this.

The Cities

USN campuses are “big and small at the same time”, being part of a big academic environment, located in smaller campuses.
We are approximately 18,000 students and 1,600 staff, spread over eight campuses: Bø, Drammen, Vestfold, Kongsberg, Ringerike, Notodden, Porsgrunn and Rauland.

See campus videos, made by our former exchange student Bara Klocová, each campus is presented with a local student, capturing the essence of that campus.
